This rich dark unctuous stout is named after the old Galvanising plant at the nearby Corby Steelworks where many people from Weldon used to work. Galvanising is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, to prevent rusting. Hot-dip galvanizing, in which parts are submerged in a bath of molten zinc was used in Corby. The galvanising plant at Corby was fondly known locally as the Galvy - and it is in recognition of that, that our stout was born. It contains an array of deep dark malts and and presents a complex and irresistable mix of licqourish, coffee, smokey and hebal flavours that demands your attention.
